Review : Me Before You (Movie)

Maafkan, karena filmnya baru masuk palembang minggu kemarin, itu pun hanya satu minggu setelah itu digantikan dengan film lain. Berhubung lagi gak ada kerjaan dan stock drama korea udah habis, jadi nge-review ini aja yaaa hehehe...

So, I’ve watched Me Before You Movie last week. Together with my friends we, without thinking again, decided to watch this movie. After long enough time without movie time together, this movie finally put us on the edge. We’re cried like a fool inside the theater. But I don’t feel ashamed at all, even when my watery-red-eyes became a spotlight that time, because it worth it.

Like Anggi said, there wouldn’t be enough time to make such a complete story from a book into a movie. That what had happened with Me Before You. If you read the novel, you’d knew about Will’s complicated family problem; his father cheated behind his mother’s back, his sister who never came up after the accident, and others. Also in the movie didn’t told about how Lou working her ass off to communicate with others quadriplegic through the internet to finally found an idea to bring Will out. Some little but romantic moment from the book also disappeared from the movie.

But since I read the novel before I watch it, I know the plot. So, I’m started cried from the shoes to land of their home scene. You know, when Lou talk about how happy she is to lived in such a place and Will told her that it is not a best place to live, it is a prison, the scene which lead into a shaving time. And then I cried again when Will told Lou to give him more time to feeling a like a real man who just asked a girl on red dress to go out. People, my friends for example, usually would cry at the end of the movie. When Will refused Lou’s idea about living together happily ever after. They cried hard, so did I. But what broke my heart into a pieces is when Lou realized, and I did realized too, that everything she tried wouldn’t made Will completely happy. Will had a life before Lou, life he had treasure for good, life he had proud to have. But even after Lou came up into his life, that life wouldn’t back.

The scene, when Nathan told Lou about the impossible future for Will, that’s also when my heart suddenly in pain. And the line of Will in the letter, “don’t think of me too often” that is.... Could you find a hole there where Will is in pain about being forgotten also being a burden for someone he truly loves?

I couldn’t tell...

I’m not yet reading the After You novel, but soon I’ll pick it up and bring it home. I know the story is all about Lou, but I think it won’t b as sweet and tragic as Me Before You without Will.

And... almost forgot to tell... the soundtrack, yes te soundtrack!!! It just perfectly fit in every scenes from the movie. But the most ‘baper’ one is Photograph from Ed Sheeran when Lou arrived at the clinic to see Will before the you know, ‘the time’. I found one good video done by fan from utube....

I like Photograph really that much, one of the song I could play with guitar hehehe, but since I watched the movie, it wasn’t about romantic song anymore, more like dramatic-tragic kind of song :”)
